Relation to the Liberia National Police

“The Bowier Trust Foundation Community Partnership Activities  is in support to build a bridge between public society and the Liberian National Police!”

Active involvement of LNP Officers as merely indigenous Liberians plays a key role. Police Officers interact, discuss, teach, monitor, mentor and provide public safety relevant support, hence the positive effect is twofold. The projects general aim is in line with humanity and therefore people- and in particularly students-cantered. The Police Officers got a broader understanding of what matters to the children and their parents and families. In turn, the children and parents involved get a much better understanding of the Police and how Police is working. This may have been attributable factors to radiate positive trust building effects between School and Police into the community structures, such as County Security Councils, Religion, Community- and Township Leader and City Mayors, the Youth, Women-Organisations, Parents-Teacher Association, Motorcyclists, Business, Medias etc.

As an additional effect, the substance is automatically created for pro-active planning and prevention, instead of mainly re-active activity in managing problems.

The School Building project at the SD Cooper Road Community, Immanuel Christian Academy and Immanuel Church is clearly spearheading further and future relevant activities to improve the relationship between ordinary members of the local society and the Police in the said area.

The BT Foundation’s commitment is in full support of ongoing endeavours of the Liberia National Police to implement the ratified Community Police Policy Strategy by means of: Planning, coordination, organization, analyses, evaluation and access to international expertise in the field of contemporary Community Policing.
